just to let you know that it doesn’t make sense having a whole full featured blog for More Than Diva updates, so I’m moving to a more simplistic thing and no one better than Twitter to handle this job.

Massive content update, help required

Hi all,

so it’s done. I wish I had more time to manage the website but unfortunately I don’t and won’t have anytime soon. Which means I can’t do anything manually anymore. So from now onwards More Than Diva will be maintained by fans and I’ll take care of bug fixing only. I’m creating some administration sections to make it possible to quickly add and update videos, pictures, links, tickets and other stuff.

I’ll send an email to everyone who said interested in helping as soon as it’s ready. I would say by the end of April (this time for real, I promise!). See you soon and hope I can get the help needed to make this the biggest Tina Dico site out there.

News and updates

Hi all! Sorry for the totally lack of updates in the past weeks or months. I’ve been busy with other projects but I finally got my time to make some massive content updates to More Than Diva. The website will be automatically updated every week with the latest pictures and videos found in YouTube and Flickr. This should start by the end of November.

Also I need some help to manage the whole thing. If you’re a Tina fan and want to join, please let me know Cheers!

More Than Diva Radio

That’s right! I’ve just started testing the More Than Diva radio. I know it’s very technical but I must say that working with online media streaming is a pain in the ass! Too many things to configure, to many bits to hack, too many… blah.

But anyway, it’s online now at http://morethandiva.com:8000/stream http://morethandiva.com:8000/radio

During the next 10 days test phase, the radio can go offline quite often so don’t expect a 24h listening during that period.

Right now the playlist is very limited with about 25 songs, mainly folks and pop music. Tina Dico, Tanja Luise, Ana Free, Iris and so on. As soon as I get all the geek things working I’ll start adding more and more songs. If you’re a singer and wants to be famous (ok, not yet but one day we’ll get there hehe), feel free to send me your stuff by email.

Tina Dico Soars on ‘Count To Ten’

New Album Set For Release on Defend Music April 8, 2008

Tina Dico – the Danish born British based singer-songwriter acclaimed (and multi-platinum at home) for her ethereal voice and stellar songwriting — is set to release her fourth studio album ‘Count to Ten’ on Defend Music on April 8, 2008. Following her well regarded international solo debut, ‘In the Red’ — not to mention her ascent to worldwide fame as the stunning lead vocalist on Zero 7’s hit single, “Home” — her latest, ‘Count to Ten’ is a delicious and atmospheric eleven song meditation on life and love.

Produced by Tina and her longtime collaborator, Dennis ‘Ghettoblast’ Alghren, ‘Count to Ten’ juxtaposes of warm acoustic guitars and beautiful vocals with electronic (even trip-hop inspired) percussion and a dance-floor-ready low end. The heart of ‘Count to Ten’ is Tina’s undeniable voice, breathing life into a collection of poetic, otherworldly lyrics and epic choruses.

The title track, “Count to Ten” is an introspective ballad driven piano, acoustic guitar and Dico’s realization that sometimes to find the answers to difficult questions, one must cast aside the outside world and look within. “Sacre Coeur” is a dark and haunting melody that Dico wrote while visiting the famous Parisian cathedral of the same name.

Conversely, “On The Run” was born out of the immense freedom that is associated with a traveling singer-songwriter – a troubadour never feeling settled while journeying and performing in venues of all sizes around the world. With a guitar riff inspired by Radiohead, the refrain states “Everybody’s got to end up somewhere/ I’m just taking my time to get there/ It looks like freedom and it smells like fun, but it feels like being on the run.”

‘Count to Ten’ is the hotly anticipated follow up to Dico’s critically lauded ‘In the Red’ which received a prestigious Danish Grammy award for Best Songwriter and was voted Best Composer at the Danish Music Critics Awards. She has toured all over the world both with her solo material and as a part of Zero 7. North American tour dates are being planned for spring 2008 following the U.S. release of ‘Count to Ten.’

It took a long long time to get everything ready, but the time has come MoreThanDiva.com is now live. Now I’ll need your help to grab contents over the internet and insert videos, pictures and events to the database.

Flickr and YouTube integration

Voyla! This morning I got the YouTube integration ready, which means users will be able to link and post YouTube videos (Tina Dickow related, of course) by copy ‘n paste the URL. Tonight is Flickr time and it has the same principle, just copy ‘n paste the URL and the system will fetch the picture, title, description etc automatically. Pictures can be uploaded straight from your computer as well, just like a normal file upload.

I’ll probably add support for other services like Google Video, Zooomr and Photobucket afterwards.
